Immediate Aftercare Instructions

Professional Car Wrapping Gold Coast

Adhering to these instructions is essential in the first few days after the vinyl wrap installation:

M

1. Avoid washing your car or exposing it to rain within the first 5 days post-installation.

The moisture between the film and the paint surface is still evaporating, and the edges are drying for the adhesive to stick to the paint properly. The use of shampoos may prevent the edges from setting correctly.

M

2. Don't worry if you notice some bubbles or a slight haze in the film.

This is part of the curing process and will settle with regular driving and exposure to sunlight. This typically takes 1-3 weeks depending on your vehicle usage and parking conditions.

3. Once the film has cured, you can wash your car as usual.

Use the two-bucket method and a lambswool wash mitt if possible. If you’re using a pressure washer, make sure to keep the spray lance at least 1 meter away from the film surface, especially the edges, to avoid lifting the film.

4. Use PH Neutral Car Care Products

We recommend using PH neutral car care products on the film for optimum maintenance. We stock these products and would be happy to assist you in finding the right ones.

Ongoing Aftercare Instructions

Keep your wrap looking its best by promptly handling any contaminants:

1. Remove bug splatter or bird droppings immediately

The acids in these substances can etch through the PVC, especially when coupled with the ambient heat produced by your car. Use pressurised water to remove bug splatter and warm water to soften and remove bird droppings with a microfibre cloth.

M

2. Avoid using polishes with abrasives, or products containing petroleum or solvents on the film.

These substances can damage the film and remove the adhesive. Also, refrain from using abrasive or resin-based products, as they can cause a haze on the film surface.

3. Use PH Neutral Car Care Products

We recommend using PH neutral car care products on the film for optimum maintenance. We stock these products and would be happy to assist you in finding the right ones.

FAQs of Wrap Cleaning

3

What detergent should I use for a hand wash?

Use a mild car cleaning detergent and water mix that does not contain any strong soluble substances, alcohol, or abrasive components. The detergent should have a pH balance between 5 and 9.

When should I clean my vehicle?

Avoid cleaning your vehicle within the first 5 days of the wrap being applied. After this period, it is recommended to wash your vehicle every week.

Can I wax my vehicle?

We do not recommend using wax on vinyl wraps. However, you can use liquid sealant products that create a barrier over the surface of the film, that prevent a fallout and run-off.

What if my wrap has a matte finish?

Use a waterless wash that is recommended for matte finishes. Waterless wash products containing wax can fill in the texture and cause shiny spots. Use a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water to spot clean matte finish films.

accelerate the process, pour warm water (not boiling) over the affected area to help the uppermost layer of the film return to its original state.
